I rmember when watching a histroy channel special on Alexander the great they showed the eygptian type as said it was accurate. I figured it wasn't as holly wood as those would be though. I actually like the history of Alexander he could have gotten every one had he not died, pretty scary. Also fairly profund that if you didn't believe in an after life you would make your name last forever. |
| I seem to remember, around the time that the movie Alexander was released, an argument over whether or not there was such a man as Alexander. He could have been several men, from the little that I recall. It is just a side note. History is written by the victor, then edited for length and content. --Admiral Coeyman |

I am more like the Admiral than like Raze in my responses to various stimuli. I find movies ramp me up more than most video games. RPGs can keep me inspired for weeks on end and sometimes months. Books can have the same effect on me. I've had to set a book aside sometimes because I've been so wound up by what I was reading. Games tend to draw out whatever excitement I'm feeling and use it directly in the game. |

| I observed a conflict between a bully and a boy who was in counseling. He would have fared better if he had stood his ground, even without fighting, than he did in trying to talk his opponent down. Bullies are about putting on a show. I was able to avoid fights by keeping my opponent from putting on a good show. on Oct 20th, 2006, 10:07pm, Raze wrote:| What can I say my dad was a marine, a warrior, some things translate in to your personality even if not said. | I have a heroic archtype. It's something that I woke up to in coming to Christ. I get along well with soldiers. There is a good chance that I would have gone into the millitary if, aside from possible physical limitations, I could feel like I was protecting something. --Admiral Coeyman |

| I haven't switched machines, so I do not know. I did go looking for the file, manually, and I got timeouts. Almighty Admin reports that the image link uses a URL redirecting mechanism. My results were consistent with this conclusion. --Admiral Coeyman |

The black button did not do a whole lot. It was probably the wrong button to push, but you never know that until you have tried. With a bright blast, the shot from the van put a big hole in the garbage truck and a smaller hole in the building behind it. That was the kind of atack that even an alien weapon can understand. A dimensional pulse rippled through the air and slammed the van with a large pop. Then the weapon, reacting with its autonomic defenses, computer confusion on its own part. Usually, you rip open the power core of an atacking craft and the craft becomes an expanding mass of metalic splinters. In this case, the van just died where it sat. Alien technology does not draw much power from batteries and the van's gel-cell was unlike any reactor that the weapon had been programmed against. It was just the most reactor-like part of the van, so the weapon's autonomic system blasted it open. In fact, the battery's entire outer casing had been vaporized by the dimensional rift. The electrolyte splattered all over the engine. Spider and Raze got out of the van to stand their ground. They would not be taken, if they could help it, and could guarantee that they would not be taken easily. Raze looked to Spider's knowledge of alien technology for clues on facing the weapon, yet it was clear that Spider was relying on his reckless daring in this fight. It was the kind of fight that would lean toward Raze's skills more than Spider's knowledge. Puppetmaster and Juggler slid out of the dead truck and stood dazed beside it. Both of them scanned the environemtn as though they were new to their own senses and did not understand any of the world around them. Their eyes darted about wildly, in increasingly random patterns, looking for anything familiar. Even their old adversaries, standing in front of the dead van, drew no notice from the two of them. Although they knew better, Spider and Raze looked at each other for a moment. The distraction cost them nothing even in the battle where they stood. Puppetmaster and Juggler were still in the back of the van even as they were standing beside the garbage truck facing Spider and Raze. "Artificial intelligence is incompatible with virtual intelligence," Spider quoted from a dream. Raze turned his trained eyes back to the field of battle. "Puppetmaster is not a machine." "Good point," started Spider. although he did not get to finish his thought. The weapon, at the end of its knowledge, had drawn upon its master's understanding. His real thoughts were amplified and given form in the weapon's virtual mind. The two were one in thought and will. Master of the weapon, the unknown stranger was beginning to feel like the savior of all worlds and like his own god. Spider felt it coming and pushed Raze aside with everything that he had. Then Spider was hit with the full blast of the energy that had been the needles, Puppetmaster and Juggler. Half of the van melted away in the discharge. The membranes within Spider just barely withstood the part of the charge that he had been given. |
